a fence, a carnival and a hug

We have had 2 very busy weekends. We started last week, with the help of Katie and Tony, getting the post for our new fence in. We did some gardening and Myla learned how to golf. Lance and I finished the fence on Saturday and now all we have left is to get the door up.
We all had a chance to relax a little over the weekends. And last Saturday we got a chance to bring Myla to our local PBS Kids Club member carnival. Myla had a great time dancing, having ice cream and playing games. She did not enjoy meeting or having her picture taken with a life size Curious George!!

I came home last night as it was just starting to rain, too find Myla naked outside playing with Dad in the rain. It was so cute and we both just laughed as she ran around dancing in the rain.

my little big girl bed

Myla got a big girl bed yesterday. She slept in it for a nap and overnight yesterday. She did very well, only getting out of her bed 1 during nap time. I quickly went in and put her back in bed.
Lance and I have been working towards this change for a while now. We started by buying her a "Elmo gets a Big bed" book, which nicly described how Elmo moved out of his crib and into a bed. We read it often and talked with Myla about her getting a big girl bed. Then Myla and I went and picked out special fabric for new sheets. She choose an Elmo pattern and I a cute strip pattern. She really dug the new sheets Mommy made and pulled them out of the shelf often to show off.
Then about 2 weeks ago, we set up the frame of her new big girl bed in her room and allowed her to play and get used to it. We have also been really trying to talk up the big change. So Saturday night I thought ok Myla is ready and now I am finally ready for the big bed. So we made a big deal of getting her new bed ready and emptying out the crib. We cleaned and got her new bed all set up. And she did great!! Lance and I were so proud of her for making such a big transition so well. Our little girl is growing up very fast, good thing we have another babe on the way to do this all over again with.

This is a weekly ritual for Myla and her Dad on Sunday mornings, enjoy the video!!

a visit from family and to the water park

We had a busy last couple of day, but lots of fun was had by all. Lance dad's cousin Tom and Leone were in town for a model train convention and came by for a nice visit. They were happy to meet our cats and see our grown up Myla in all her glory. Thanks again for dinner Tom and Leone!!

Lance's parents also came up on Sunday for a 2 day visit. Myla got some new toys from grandma and grandpa that she just loves!!! I will post some pics of them later. But today we had a bundle of fun at the Edge waterpark. Myla was a little hesitant at first with all the people and noises, but once she got wet there was no stopping her.

We did the lazy river in inner tubes a dozen time, a couple of slide rides and lots of time with Grandma in the kids pool. My favorite was the vortex and Lance and his Mom really enjoyed the big slide. We spent 2 hours there this morning and then went back for another 1 1/2 hours this evening.
