Grandma's Marathon

This weekend was Grandma's marathon. Lance, Myla and I all went down to watch the runners on Saturday morning. We cheered on our brave friends Michaela, Ruth, Laura and Cyndi whom all ran the half marathon. Great job girls!!!!!

Then in the afternoon Lance's Mom came in town for a visit. We took Grandma Jane down to canal park to witness the spectacle of the marathon. While down there Myla found a series of fountains to play in. It was the cutest thing to watch her enjoyment as she ran through the water.

Myla's 1st braid!!

a vacation

Last Weekend Myla and I spent time in the Twin Cities while lance was in NY-visiting his Sister. While we were vacationing we visited the Como Zoo with my parents. Myla had a really good time with her 1st Zoo experience, besides being scared of the big Gorillas they housed. As some of you know, I am against Zoos because of the suffering of the animals by the usually poor habitats they live in. But I also realize that is good and important for Myla to experience places like the Zoo. I decided to at least then take the opportunities when we are at Zoos try and teach Myla about the importance of correct habitats for animals in captivity. Although she is to young to understand now my hope is that she will get it more as she grows up.

We also visited with Lance's Brother Brian and his family while in the cities. Myla's cousins Alaina (2 1/2 yrs old) and Chloe will be a year in Aug. You can tell from the pictures that a good time was had by all!

a fence, a carnival and a hug

We have had 2 very busy weekends. We started last week, with the help of Katie and Tony, getting the post for our new fence in. We did some gardening and Myla learned how to golf. Lance and I finished the fence on Saturday and now all we have left is to get the door up.
We all had a chance to relax a little over the weekends. And last Saturday we got a chance to bring Myla to our local PBS Kids Club member carnival. Myla had a great time dancing, having ice cream and playing games. She did not enjoy meeting or having her picture taken with a life size Curious George!!

dancin in the rain

I came home last night as it was just starting to rain, too find Myla naked outside playing with Dad in the rain. It was so cute and we both just laughed as she ran around dancing in the rain.
